My First Ornament!

I joined the 2013 Ornament SAL and stitched my very first ornament!  I've been stitching for over 30 years and I've never, ever stitched an ornament, hard to imagine really.  I joined the SAL to motivate myself into stitching some ornaments, so I hope to end up with 11 ornaments at the end of the year.  (I didn't join the SAL until this month).

Anyways, here it is, my very first ornament!

SAL Update & The Last of My "M" Charts

It's been a long week.  How can a shorter work week feel even longer than a normal one? 

I managed to stitch a bit on my SAL piece last night.  Here is my progress.

I just realized that I'm half way through the alphabet!  I need to do a recap post of all my WIP's that I've stitched on so far.  I may do that tomorrow if I have time.

Just One L

I'm off work today in observance of President's Day.  I just love government holidays!! 

I'm not sure how much stitching I will accomplish today because I promised my dad I would come and spend most of the day with him.  We're going to go to lunch and just spend some quality time together.  Life has been hard for him since we lost my mom six years ago.  I try to spend as much time as possible with him, but it never seems like it's enough.  Okay, time to move on before I make myself cry!

These waxing moon designs have been so much fun to stitch.  So far I have finished January, February, March, April, and July.  I'm not sure how I managed to finish July before May and June.

Today I'm going to work on finishing the stitching on my very first ornament for the Ornament SAL that I joined.

One Lonely I and a Couple of J's

Life has been crazy busy for me at work lately, and I don't see it slowing down anytime soon.  I feel like I'm a hamster running on a wheel but never getting anywhere.

A new Sheriff took office and he's go, go, go.  I'm not use to so much activity!  So I'm usually exhausted when I get home and I've only managed a few stitches each night.  Hopefully things will calm down once he gets settled in and learns everything.

Now on to my stitching!  Here's the latest in my alphabetical rotation.

Awe, the Beach!

I love the ocean.  Actually I just love water.  A lake, a river, a pond, it doesn't matter.  There's just something so calming about sitting by the water.  I would love to live near a body of water, but since I don't, the next best thing is to stitch the water!  Here is my last H chart.

I'm going to take a break on my alphabet stitching tonight to work on my SAL piece, Halloween House. 

I also joined the 2013 Ornament SAL so I'm going to have to look through my charts for an ornament to stitch.  I have never, ever stitched an ornament so I thought this would be a fun way to get started!
