IT'S BEEN A BUSY WEEK, AND IT'S ONLY TUESDAY....

The last two days have been filled, and not with stitching!  Last night I went with my son to pick up his very first brand new car!  We got to the dealership around 4:30pm and didn't get home until almost 8:00!  I had forgotten how much paperwork is involved in purchasing a new car.  He got himself a Ford Fiesta.  He has never been the kind of boy who is all about his car, which is good because for the last several years he has been driving a hand me down from his dad and I, a 1999 Stratus.  It was new when we bought it and it has served its purpose but it was definitely on its last leg.  Anyway, he loves his Fiesta and is really happy that he will be getting much better gas mileage then he has been getting from the Stratus.

The County Fair started today and as the sheriff's secretary I always work his booth several times during the week so I spent two hours there this afternoon.  After that I headed to my local BMV where I got my drivers license renewed.  I can't understand why the picture on my license always looks so horrible, is that really what I look like? Yikes!

I have to share a couple pictures of the growing kitties.  They have doubled their size in a little over a week.  I think they should be opening their eyes by the end of this week.

And I can't have a post without a little bit of stitching.  This is what I am stitching on this evening.

Now it's time to settle in my chair and get to stitching!

Happy stitching everyone!

Kitten Update & Some Stitching

I am sad to report that we lost two of the kittens on Sunday; it just about broke my heart.  The three remaining kittens seem to be thriving and the momma kitty is taking very good care of them and hardly ever leaves their side.  I am trying to force myself not to get attached to these sweet babies, but they are so hard to resist.  I wish I could keep them, (and their momma too) but the three cats that I already have are enough, seven cats would earn me the title of "Cat Lady". LOL.

On the stitching front, I have put a few stitches in this little cutie....

This is Cold Wind Blows, which is in the February 2010 Stoney Creek Magazine.  I love snowmen and I stitch them all year round!

I guess that's it for now.  Happy Stitching!

WHAT A SURPRISE!

When I got home from work yesterday, I was greeted by a big surprise in my garage, these sweet little babies.  There are five little fur balls in there.

I have never seen the mama cat before but for some reason she picked my garage to have her babies. Here is the proud mama.

I now feel responsible for these little babies so I had to run out and buy them a nice comfy bed, and of course I will have to feed the mama.  I'm sad that they have to stay in my garage but I already have three indoor cats of my own so it would be impossible to bring them inside.  I have never cared for newborn kittens before so I'm hoping that the mama cat does most of the work.  I just don't know what I'm going to do with them once they are up and moving around.  A garage is no place for kittens!

I'm hoping to get some stitching in today once all of my housework is done but I can't stop running outside to check on these little babies!
Happy stitching!

Getting to Know Me...

I am still pretty new to the blogging world, and I'm not sure if anyone is even reading this blog, but on the off chance that someone actually is, I thought I would introduce myself to you with a little bit about myself.

  • My name is Carrie.
  • I will be 45 years old next month.
  • I have been married for almost 27 years to my high school sweetheart.
  • We have one adult son.  He just finished college and is now trying to find his way in the world.
  • I am an Administrative Assistant at a county sheriff's office.  I have been there for almost 25 years and I have to say that it is the best job in the world because there is never a dull moment.
  • My grandmother put a needle in my hand when I was about 7 or 8. She taught me to stitch on pre-stamped pillow cases.
  • I have three very spoiled kitty cats.
  • Besides stitching, I love to read.
  • I also love ice cream.
  • But I hate carrots.
  • I have never blogged before (I'm sure you can tell!).
  • I love a rainy day (great excuse to sit and stitch!).
  • I also love a sunny day.
That's about it for now.  Happy Stitching!

Saturday Stitching....

It's been a long week. Usually the days and weeks fly by but for some reason this has just been one long week.

It's overcast here today and the weather man is calling for rain, it's a perfect day to stitch! Now I just have to decide which WIP I want to stitch on today. When you have as many WIP's as I do, it can be a tough decision. First things first though, I need coffee!

Happy Saturday and Happy Stitching!

It's Wednesday, we're half way there! It's been a long, busy week at work and I am so ready for the weekend to get here. Here is my latest finish...

Isn't she just beautiful? She was so much fun to stitch and I can't wait to have her framed and hanging on my wall. (Please ignore that big white blob near the bottom of her dress, my photography skills really are terrible!)

Happy Stitching!

Monday, Monday....

Oh how I hate Monday's, but working on Tigerlily should make my Monday night feel a little better.

Happy stitching!
