Comments & An Update on Fern

I really enjoy reading all of your kind comments on my blog, they really mean a lot.  That's why I'm upset that I cannot comment on some blogs and I can't figure out why.  I will type my comment into the comment box and when I hit "publish", it just disappears.  Does anyone else have this problem and were you able to fix it?  It is driving me insane!

Not much stitching has gone on here so far this weekend.  Friday afternoon/evening was spent traveling to Pittsburgh to pick up my brother who had become sick while driving (he is a truck driver) and ended up in the hospital.  He had no way home so my husband and I made the trip to get him.  He's fine now and just needs some rest.

Yesterday was spent cleaning the house and the evening was spent at a dinner for work.  We have an annual retirement dinner where we recognize everyone that had retired the past year.  We also give out years of service awards.  I received a watch for my 25 years of service!  It's a beautiful watch and I tried to take a picture to share, but no matter what I did I couldn't get a good shot of it.  I'm not that great with a camera!

I did put some stitches into Fern last week.  Here's how she looks now.

Today will be spent doing laundry but I should be able to get some stitching in too!

Have a great Sunday everyone and Happy Stitching!

I'm A Winner!

Look what I won.....

This was the giveaway that Chelle was having; she even included the floss!  The fabric is linen, which I have never stitched on.  Ever.  It's so soft and so intimidating! I'm almost afraid to stitch on it because I don't want to ruin it.  But I guess I just need to jump in head first and see how it goes!

Thank you Chelle, I love everything!!

I'm heading to my stitching chair to work on Fern and to think about starting Butterfly! lol

Happy Stitching!

Another WIP

Here's what I've been working on for the last two evenings.

MERMAIDS OF THE DEEP BLUE
By:  Nora Corbett

Can you tell that I'm a Nora Corbett fan?  I love her designs.  I think I'll keep stitching on this one for the rest of the week.

We got a little rain here today, but not enough that it even counts.  And it only made it muggier.  Blah.  I really hate this heat.

Hope you're cool wherever you are!

Happy Stitching!

SAL Update

Between laundry, food shopping, and an unexpected visit from my brother yesterday, I didn't get very much accomplished on All Hearts Come Home.  Sometimes life just gets in the way.

July 7th Progress

July 14th Progress

I'm off to dig something out of my massive WIP pile.  Happy Stitching everyone!

Tag, I'm It!

I've been tagged by Melissa for the eleven questions and answers that's been making it's way around.
1.  What is the thing you cannot stitch without
besides your needle, thread and fabric ;) ?
     My hoop and my glasses!

2. What is your favourite stitching theme?
I don't know if I can choose just one, I stitch such
a wide variety of things. But if I have to choose it
    would be Halloween.

3. What are your favourite cross stitch designers?
There are so many but I do love Nora Corbett.

4. Do you have any 'least' favourite designers?
     No.

 5. Traditional store bought Floss/Fabric, such as
     DMC products.
I'm a DMC kind of girl.

6. What are your other hobbies?
I enjoy reading when I'm able to put my needle
down long enough to pick up a book.

7. What is your favourite magazine, cross stitch or
    other.
     Cross Stitch Gold

8. What is your favourite TV show?
The Closer. Only 5 more episodes :(

9. If you could be a character from this show who
    would it be and why?
Brenda Lee because she's a bad ass!

10. What country do you live in?
      USA

11. If you could move anywhere in the world where
      would it be and why
I would like to live in Italy for awhile.  I'm half
Italian so I would like to experience my heritage

Now give me a few days to come up with my questions for 11 bloggers!

Happy stitching!

SAL Update

I only have time to post my update for the stitch-a-long that I'm doing with Chelle and Linda.  Here is what it looked like last Sunday when I was finished stitching.

And here's how it looks after stitching this past Sunday.

Excuse the wrinkles, there was no time to iron.

I'm On A Roll......

...with two finishes in a week!

WINTER SNOWMAN

This is Winter Snowman from the December 2007 issue of "Stoney Creek Cross Stitch".  He's stitched on 14 count creamy Aida with DMC floss.

I finished him up this morning so I'm getting a late start on my SAL piece but hopefully I'll be able to make some progress on it this afternoon in between loads of laundry!

Happy Sunday everyone and Happy Stitching!!

BOO!

This is what I have been working on for the last couple of days

GHOULS ONLY
Designed by:  Gail Bussi

And I even managed to finish it!  This is from the October 2009 issue of "The Cross Stitcher" Magazine and it's stitched on 14 count white Aida using DMC floss.  I think I'm going to try my hand (again) at finishing it as a tuck pillow.  I just hope I have better luck this time.  I'm going to master that pillow if it's the last thing I do!!

It's calling for record temperatures this weekend so I hope everyone stays cool.  I plan to stay in my stitching chair all weekend in the AC!

Happy Stitching!

Stitch-A-Long

Yesterday was the start of my very first stitch-a-long with Chelle and Linda.  Here is my progess so far.

All Hearts Come Home
Diane Arthurs

I'm really enjoying this and can't wait until next Sunday when I can stitch on it again.  Go check out Chelle's blog to see her progress.  Linda will be starting on Tuesday so we will have to wait to see her progress.

Happy Stitching!
