We Interrupt the Alphabet Rotation

I've been plugging away at my alphabet rotation and I realized that I haven't had a new start in months!  EEK!!!  So I took a short break from my rotation and made four new starts yesterday.  Here they are.....

PIXIE PATCHWORK
By Joan Elliott

I love the colors in this one.  Joan Elliott is one of my favorite designers.

NOEL
By:  Barbara Cooley

I think this one is so adorable and I'm hoping to have it done by this Christmas.
NORTH POLE WELCOME
By:  Stoney Creek - Summer 2012 Magazine

Another adorable one!  This one isn't too big so I should be able to finish it in time for Christmas.

CAT PACK
By:  Design Works

This one was a gift from Chelle.  Isn't it just adorable? I love it and can't wait to see it finished.

Sometimes you just need to have a new start, or four!  I feel so much better now!

Now it's back to my alphabet rotation.  Hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend filled with lots of stitching!

Bad Blogger!!

I have been such a bad blogger and bad commenter lately!  Life has been so busy for me that I just haven't had the time or the energy to post.  I've been spending long hours at work and by the time I come home, cook dinner, do a few things around the house I'm just too tired to do much of anything else.  My stitching has even been suffering!  Things are finally starting to calm down at work (for now), so things should start to get back to normal soon.

I'm still plugging away with my alphabet rotation.  Here are three more.

Happy Stitching!

Boy do I have a lot of catching up to do!  I don't know how I fell so far behind but it's time to get this blog back on track!  First up is my Ornament of the Month which I'm late posting, but better late then never, right?

Another O and a P

For the first time in a very long time I didn't do any stitching on a Friday night!  I was wiped out from a very long and busy work week so my hubby took me out to dinner and a few drinks.  Very relaxing.  But a few drinks and stitching just don't mix so I didn't get any work in on my Halloween House SAL piece.  I'm going to try and work on it a bit today.

Next up in my alphabetical rotation.....

OUT FOR A RIDE
By:  Diane Arthurs

I just love all of Diane Arthurs designs, they are so fun and easy to stitch!  I have to order more of her charts soon!

PUMPKIN PATCH
By:  Debbie Mumm

This has been in my WIP pile for a long time (since 2009!) I hope to finish it this year.  I love anything with a scarecrow!

My housework is calling me so the sooner I get it done, the sooner I can stitch!

Have a great Saturday everyone and Happy Stitching!

SAL Update & Two "O" Charts

It's suppose to be a beautiful day here in Ohio, in the upper 50's!!  I am sooo ready for spring to get here that I can hardly stand it; I'm suffering from a bad case of cabin fever!

I worked on my Halloween House SAL
on Friday night and here is where I'm at.

HALLOWEEN HOUSE

My progress has been slow and steady, but that's better than no progress at all!

Here are the next two charts in my alphabet stitching.

OCTOBER SAMPLER
By:  Waxing Moon Designs

These are really so much fun to stitch.  Linda, I have been stitching all of these on 14 count Oatmeal Aida.

And another "O" chart.

ORIENTAL GARDEN
By:  Lesley Teare

I just love the colors in this one and I can't wait to get her finished.

Today is laundry day so I'm off to get that started, and of course everyday is a stitching day so I will be doing some of that too!

Enjoy your Sunday everyone and Happy Stitching!

My First Ornament!

I joined the 2013 Ornament SAL and stitched my very first ornament!  I've been stitching for over 30 years and I've never, ever stitched an ornament, hard to imagine really.  I joined the SAL to motivate myself into stitching some ornaments, so I hope to end up with 11 ornaments at the end of the year.  (I didn't join the SAL until this month).

Anyways, here it is, my very first ornament!

SAL Update & The Last of My "M" Charts

It's been a long week.  How can a shorter work week feel even longer than a normal one?

I managed to stitch a bit on my SAL piece last night.  Here is my progress.

I just realized that I'm half way through the alphabet!  I need to do a recap post of all my WIP's that I've stitched on so far.  I may do that tomorrow if I have time.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend so far.  I'm headed to my stitching chair where I plan to spend the rest of the evening!

Happy Stitching everyone!

Just One L

I'm off work today in observance of President's Day.  I just love government holidays!!

I'm not sure how much stitching I will accomplish today because I promised my dad I would come and spend most of the day with him.  We're going to go to lunch and just spend some quality time together.  Life has been hard for him since we lost my mom six years ago.  I try to spend as much time as possible with him, but it never seems like it's enough.  Okay, time to move on before I make myself cry!

Here is my one and only "L" chart.

LET HEAVEN & NATURE SING
By:  Stoney Creek

I just love this chart and I hope I can get it done by Christmas, but there's still so much stitching to do on it that it probably won't be done by then.

Well I'm off to straighten up the house a bit before I head to my dad's.

Have a great day everyone and Happy Stitching!

JUNE SAMPLER
By:  Waxing Moon Designs

These waxing moon designs have been so much fun to stitch.  So far I have finished January, February, March, April, and July.  I'm not sure how I managed to finish July before May and June.

Today I'm going to work on finishing the stitching on my very first ornament for the Ornament SAL
that I joined.

Have a great Saturday everyone and Happy Stitching!

One Lonely I and a Couple of J's

Life has been crazy busy for me at work lately, and I don't see it slowing down anytime soon.  I feel like I'm a hamster running on a wheel but never getting anywhere.

A new Sheriff took office and he's go, go, go.  I'm not use to so much activity!  So I'm usually exhausted when I get home and I've only managed a few stitches each night.  Hopefully things will calm down once he gets settled in and learns everything.

Now on to my stitching!  Here's the latest in my alphabetical rotation.

Happy stitching everyone!

Awe, the Beach!

I love the ocean.  Actually I just love water.  A lake, a river, a pond, it doesn't matter.  There's just something so calming about sitting by the water.  I would love to live near a body of water, but since I don't, the next best thing is to stitch the water!  Here is my last H chart.

Sorry about the hoop mark, I was just too lazy to iron it!

Have a great Tuesday everyone and Happy Stitching!

It's not much, but at least it's something.

Here is the next H chart.

HOLIDAY CHEER
By:  Ursula Michael

It's a cold and snowy day here in Ohio, a good day to stay indoors and stitch!  I hope you are all warm and cozy wherever you may be and that your day is filled with lots of stitching!

Have A Ball!

I'm still stitching my way through my WIP's in alphabetical order.  Here is the next H chart

HAVE A BALL
By: Stoney Creek

I have two more H charts before I move on to my one and only I chart.

I'm going to take a break on my alphabet stitching tonight to work on my SAL piece, Halloween House.

I also joined the 2013 Ornament SAL
so I'm going to have to look through my charts for an ornament to stitch.  I have never, ever stitched an ornament so I thought this would be a fun way to get started!

I'll be back tomorrow with an update on my Friday SAL piece and another H chart!

Have a great Friday everyone and Happy Stitching!

Another H and a SAL!

Here is the next H chart.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS - HOLIDAY MAGGIE BUTTS
By:  Jerelyn Ablcca-Smestad

This one has been a really fun and easy stitch so far.

Last week after I posted Halloween House, Linda let me know that there was a SAL going on with this chart and asked me to join them, so I did!  They stitch on it every Friday.  Here is my update.

HALLOWEEN HOUSE
By:  Ursula Michael

It's not much because I only have a few hours to stitch after work on Friday's, and most of the stitchers are much farther along than I am, but that's okay.  I started this chart in February of 2011 so I'm hoping that by joining the SAL and working on it every Friday, I may be able to finish it before Halloween!

It's a cold and snowy day here in Ohio, a perfect day for stitching, which is exactly what I plan on doing!

Have a great weekend everyone and Happy Stitching!

HAPPY HARVEST

I'm off work today in observance of Martin Luther King so once I get a few chores done around the house, I will spend the rest of the day in my stitching chair!

Have great Monday everyone and Happy Stitching!

Just One G

I'm still plugging away and stitching my WIP's in alphabetical order.  It really has been a stress free way of deciding what to stitch on next.  Here is my one and only G chart.

GROW OLD WITH ME
By:  Bobbie G. Designs

I don't have much done on this one. I really love this chart and I hated to put it down but I need to get myself moving if I'm ever going to make it through the alphabet.

For the last several weeks I've been helping to plan a retirement party for our Sheriff so I haven't been able to stitch as much as I usually do.  The party was last night so now I should be able to get back into my stitching routine.  Today I plan to plant myself in my stitching chair and stitch the day away!  I have several H charts so I better get to it!

Hope you all have a wonderful Sunday! Happy Stitching!

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!!!  It's hard to believe that it's 2013 already; time sure does fly.  I hope everyone had a great holiday.  We had a quiet New Years Eve at home with family.  I made dinner for our small group, we played a few games and everyone left around 10:30.  I tried so hard to stay awake to see the ball drop, but I only made it until about 11:30.  I really can't remember the last time I saw the ball drop.  Actually I can't remember the last time I saw midnight.  I'm a morning person and can rarely stay awake past ten.  I feel old.

I'm still working through my WIP's in alphabetical order and here is my one D chart.

DECEMBER SAMPLER

And here is the D chart that is going into the UFO pile.

DAFFODIL FAIRY
By:  Joan Elliott

I think she's just gorgeous but she has been no fun to stitch for some reason and if I'm not enjoying it, then I can't stitch it.

Wishing all of you a wonderful 2013 filled with love, laughter, happiness, and of course LOTS of stitching!!
